About Mara van Loggerenberg

Mara has worked in the fields of sustainable development and international development policy for over fifteen years. Mara currently serves as Adjunct Professor in the Business & Society Program, teaching Social Impact Consulting, an experiential learning seminar in which students work on real world problems for a range of social enterprise, government, and nonprofit clients over the course of the semester. Her class has worked on problems ranging from climate change and food security in emerging economies, to promoting gender equality and sustainable finance with UN agencies.

Mara most recently served as Senior Associate Director for Social Impact Programming for NYU Stern (from 2018- 2025), developing and implementing programs and strategic partnerships that blend business with social and environmental impact. Prior to joining Stern, Mara served as Deputy Director for Global Policy and UN Relations for the UN Foundation, where she advised multistakeholder partners on the diplomatic negotiations of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Financing for Development agendas, as well as on US-UN Relations and UN reform. Her prior experience includes: the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD) in Paris, France, the WFM- Institute for Global Policy, and the Initiative for Policy Dialogue based at Columbia University.

Mara holds an EMPA from the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a BA, magna cum laude, from Duke University.
