Biography

Andrew "Drew" Hinkes is an attorney with Carlton Fields, based in Miami, Florida, working as part of its National Blockchain and Digital Currency practice. Mr. Hinkes is also a co-founder and the General Counsel of Athena Blockchain, a professional services firm focused on tokenized investments. Previously nominated as one of Coindesk’s Most Influential People in Blockchain in 2017, Mr. Hinkes is frequently quoted and cited in articles related digital assets and blockchain technology, and regularly speaks at legal, industry, and academic conferences. His primary research areas focus on legal and business issues related to public network cryptocurrency systems, decentralized system governance, and legal and ethical issues related to cryptocurrency systems.
