About Zahra Khan
Zahra Khan is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Business and Society at NYU Stern School of Business. She teaches courses in Stern’s Sustainable Business concentration, including Global Business and Human Rights and Social Impact Consulting, an experiential learning seminar in which students work on real-world challenges for social enterprise, government, and nonprofit clients.
She currently serves as Portfolio Manager, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking at Humanity United, a philanthropic organization focused on advancing the dignity and voice of those most affected by violent conflict, exploitation, and injustice.
With over a decade of experience across international nonprofits, philanthropy, and corporate advisory, Zahra brings a practitioner’s perspective to the classroom, grounded in efforts to advance fair, accountable, and equitable market systems. She began her career in Bangladesh supporting the livelihoods of low-income female farmers and later helped launch the consulting arm of CARE USA, advising Fortune 100 companies on human rights due diligence in global supply chains. She has also worked at NYU Stern’s Center for Business and Human Rights, where she published a report documenting the conditions of migrant construction workers in Qatar during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zahra holds a BA in International Affairs and an MA in International Development Studies from The George Washington University.
