Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between MS Convocation and Commencement?

MS Convocation is for Stern’s Master’s candidates and their families and friends. The Stern School ceremony recognizes each student individually. Stern’s MS Convocation for the Class of 2024 will take place on Monday, May 13, 2024 at the New York City Center.

NYU’s All-University Commencement is for all students graduating from New York University.  With thousands of students expected to attend, graduates are not recognized individually by name. Instead, the deans introduce each class as a whole and a representative selected in advance will receive a symbolic degree for degree categories. NYU’s All-University Commencement for the Class of 2024 will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11am ET at Yankee Stadium.
