Student Experience
The MiM is a part-time program in a convenient online format that lets you work on your time and your schedule. The program is highly structured, and you take just one course at a time, keeping you on pace and on track. While most of the program is online, students are required to meet weekly deadlines for assignments. MiM professors hold optional live sessions each week which are recorded for students who are unable to attend. Learn more on the Curriculum page.
The MiM program is a part-time, 20-month program comprising 22 short courses, taken one at a time, for a total of 33 credits. The program is primarily delivered online. Learn more on the Curriculum page.
The MiM program includes two immersive four-day residencies on the NYU Stern campus in Greenwich Village. The residential immersions are a highlight of the program and take place over a long weekend to accommodate working professionals.
In exceptional circumstances, we will consider waiving the residency requirement and provide alternatives for completing the orientation and coursework. Please visit the Residential Immersion page for more information. Additionally, we welcome students to come to campus for both the NYU Stern Graduate Convocation and NYU’s All-University Commencement at Yankee Stadium.
Academics
Eligible MiM students who have not completed the degree and wish to further their education with an MBA are able to transfer to Stern’s Langone Part-time MBA program and use the credits they have earned online toward the MBA degree if they meet eligibility requirements. For more information, visit MiM to MBA.
Neither your diploma nor your transcripts will reference the program’s format.
Admissions
Applications are reviewed and admissions decisions are given on an ongoing basis throughout the admissions cycle. We recommend submitting your application earlier in the cycle as admission becomes more competitive throughout the year. Visit Deadlines & Process for more information
The GMAT, GMAT Focus Edition, GRE, or GMAC Executive Assessment exams are optional for the MiM program. If you will not be submitting a test score, please provide a supplemental essay in which you explain how your academic and professional experience provide evidence of your quantitative, verbal, and reasoning abilities.
