B-School Disrupt: NYU Stern School of Business, Stanford Business School, and Harvard Business School Partner to Showcase Rising Entrepreneurs

A standing-room only audience of students, faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, and VC funders came out to see 9 startups from all 3 schools present 2-3 minute pitches representing a range of industries. The B-School Disrupt event was hosted at NYU Stern in partnership with the Harvard Business School Startup Studio and Stanford Graduate School of Business, and was held during TechCrunch Disrupt NY Week. A reception followed the pitches so the entrepreneurs could continue to showcase and share information about their ventures.

Before the pitches began, an energizing keynote by CEO and Co-Founder of Zola, Shan-Lyn Ma, gave the budding entrepreneurs 10 powerful insights gathered throughout her journey of bringing Zola to life.

“Such a critical part of business education at the moment is educating students to be agile, adaptive, open-minded to all sorts of new ideas,” said Luke Williams, Executive Director of the NYU Stern W.R. Berkley Innovation Labs who spoke at the event on behalf of Stern. “This has nothing to do with disruptive technology. It has to do with disrupting the way we think,” Williams affirmed. He was joined by Avani Patel, Director of HBS Startup Studio in New York and Singari Seshadri, Director of Stanford Venture Studio.
