NYU Stern provides a comprehensive program for students interested in social enterprise. The curriculum covers topics such as social entrepreneurship, venture philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. Board Fellows Program
Social Impact Internship Fund
- Provides funding to selected students who pursue opportunities in the social sector
- Students apply for funding and complete an interview with the selection committee
- Grantees have interned at such organizations as Agora Partnerships, Education Pioneers, Millennium Challenge Corporation, Taproot Foundation and USAID
Stern Board Fellows Program
- Students are matched with boards of prominent nonprofit organizations and serve as non-voting board members for one academic year
- Complete a board-level strategic project in support of the organization’s mission and gain an in-depth understanding of the role of business leaders on nonprofit boards
- Receive upfront training and ongoing support through sessions with experts from the nonprofit and NYU communities
Stern Consulting Corps (SCC)
- Apply MBA skills to the needs of New York City small businesses, nonprofits, and faculty-sourced projects with the aid of alumni mentors from top consulting firms, like Booz & Company and Deloitte
- Gain valuable consulting experience that is transferable to future careers, while developing a sense of social consciousness
- Sample clients include Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Carnegie Hall, Lower East Side Business Improvement District, Step Up Women's Network and the William J. Clinton Foundation

International Social Impact Strategies (ISIS) Course
- Apply classroom learning to real-world issues by conducting field work in a developing country such as India or Colombia
- Gain hands-on exposure to innovative models for serving the world's poorest populations, as well as to international social enterprises that are making a tangible impact
- Complete team-based projects on areas such as poverty alleviation, energy, health, and sustainability
Social Entrepreneurship Resources
- Sponsored by the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Social Venture Competition is part of the annual Entrepreneurs' Challenge. Winners receive the $100,000 Stewart Satter Family Prize. Watch a video about two of our winners
