Board Fellows ProgramThe NYU Stern Board Fellows Program provides MBA students with the opportunity to learn more about what it is like to be on the board of a non-profit. Students work New York City-based nonprofit organizations to complete a strategic governance project for the board while attending their board meetings and working with board/organizational liaisons.
With the assistance of the Office of Student Engagement’s Experiential Education team, as well as a program advisor who is an expert in board service and governance, Fellows will be matched with one of our partner boards in teams of three-four. Our selection and matching process reflects each student’s strengths, as well as each organization’s needs. Facilitated peer-learning sessions will ensure that Fellows are also able to hear about other students’ unique board experiences.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, committed, professional students with the skills and initiative to take full advantage of this exciting and unique opportunity. Prior experience with non-profit work is not required! This course is a fit not only for those interested in the social sectors, but for any student interested in sitting on a non-profit board one day.
