Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “What do you think makes you stand out as a professor? I am not sure, I would love to know what my students think! If I had to guess, I’d say it’s my enthusiasm for strategy. I am genuinely excited for each class, and I work hard to foster an intellectual environment where students are comfortable sharing their ideas. I truly believe that in a class like Strategic Management where the business problems are complex and subjective, everyone has a nuanced angle into the same problem. Each angle is valuable, and I seek to get as many angles into our discussions as possible. I believe that enriches everyone’s thought processes and strengthens our analytical conclusions.
“Otherwise, it could be the breadth of materials I pull into our class discussions: I’m equally likely to engage in a deep analysis of Boeing and Airbus’s rivalry as I am to unpack Mariah Carey’s strategic choices.”

Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “What do you think makes you stand out as a professor? I aspire to create a classroom culture that encourages connections between students. The hour or so that students spend off of their devices, debating ideas and bouncing thoughts off one another feels increasingly rare yet precious. I am staunchly low-tech in my classroom approach, limiting technology and prioritizing experiential learning and face-to-face interaction above all else. The most gratifying thing for me is when my students come up to me after the semester ends and actually thank me for banning their phones and laptops during class!”

Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “Another program differentiator, say students, is Stern’s wide array of experiential learning opportunities. The 2025 recipient of P&Q’s “Best In Class” Award for Experiential Learning, NYU Stern is able to tap into leading companies and industries though its New York City locale…where a sizable chunk of its alumni base resides. Along with conscientiously injecting company partnerships and projects into its curriculum, Stern delivers a series of mini-internships where students gain intensive, relevant experience long before they graduate.”

Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “Professor Deepak Hegde, EFL’s founder and director, says the program is built on a simple premise: world-class science needs a path to reach patients. EFL supports founders with clear milestones, no-equity terms, and an ecosystem built to reduce uncertainty for early-stage science.”

Excerpt from Financial Times — “The article introduces MBA students to the concept of cost-effectiveness analysis, sometimes called cost-utility analysis. We discuss this concept in my Healthcare Markets course, part of Stern’s Healthcare Initiative, as an example of how government regulation of healthcare markets affects business strategy.”

Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “What drives these outcomes isn’t just location—it’s structure. Stern’s career center has long been one of the most employer-engaged in the country, especially with New York-based firms.”

Excerpt from Poets&Quants — “In short, for those evaluating ‘best in class’ in experiential learning, Stern sets the bar. It’s embedded in the curriculum, broad in scope, aligned with industry, and accessible at scale. Its leadership isn’t accidental—it’s the product of a deliberate effort to make learning as dynamic and real as the business world students are preparing to lead.”
