The Department of Accounting at NYU Stern School of Business will host the Four-School Accounting Research Conference on Friday, April 4, 2025.

This annual conference brings together accounting researchers from four leading northeastern business schools, Columbia Business School, NYU Stern, Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale School of Management.

NYU President Linda G Mills and Provost Georgina Dopico today announced that, following an international search, Bharat N. Anand—a vice provost at Harvard University and a chaired professor and renowned teacher at Harvard Business School (HBS)—has been named the Richard R. West Dean of NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and professor of business administration. He assumes his new duties in August 2025.

The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business Annual Practice Forum is an industry-leading event convening investor and corporate sustainability professionals for an exchange of the latest research and insights on sustainability driving financial performance. The full-day program features new research findings, panel discussions on implementation, candid conversations with executives, and interactive sessions to apply learnings. Participants gain practical tools and frameworks to better understand and apply value creation levers in sustainability.

On Thursday, March 27, 2025, the NYU Stern Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing will host its first Annual Convening, entitled “Purpose and Flourishing in the 5-Generation Workplace.”

Professor Sam Chandan is shaping the future of real estate finance as the Founding Director of the School’s Chao-Hon Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance.

Class of 2025 students in NYU Stern’s one-year Andre Koo Technology & Entrepreneurship MBA Program embarked on a two-week trip to Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Los Angeles  – the heart of the West Coast tech ecosystem –  this January. As part of a three-credit course, students gained first-hand insights into what drives innovation in these global tech hubs through corporate visits with industry leaders – many of whom are Stern alumni – as well as alumni networking events in each city.

NYU-Stern's own Jonathan Haidt will begin with the case he made in his global bestseller The Anxious Generation, about how the rapid transition from a "play-based childhood" to a "phone-based childhood" in the years between 2010 and 2015 changed the course of human development around the world. Haidt will then go far beyond the mental health impacts to discuss the damage done by phone-based life to education, attention, creativity, the economy, families, and democracy.
