On September 12 and 13, 2024, the Vincent C. Ross Institute of Accounting Research hosted the second annual Big Apple Accounting Conference. The conference brings together leading academics for five paper presentations and discussions.

On Thursday, September 12, the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship hosted an info session.

A sampling of media highlights for the week of September 10, 2024

On Tuesday, September 10, NYU Stern's Center for Global Economy and Business hosted the Fall Economic Outlook Forum featuring Matthew Luzzetti, Deutsche Bank; Aparna Mathur, Amazon; Solita Marcelli (MBA '06), UBS. The discussion was moderated by Professor Venky Venkateswaran, director, Center for Global Economy and Business.

The 22nd Annual IO Day workshop was held at NYU Stern on Friday, September 6th, 2024.

NYU Stern School of Business has announced today that the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) Program has a new name: MS in Business Analytics and AI (MSBAi). 
 

Excerpt from Business Insider -- "She said that's particularly true for those students who aren't sure what they want to do in the long term, because accounting is a skill you can draw upon in many types of industries. Shehata said some of her former accounting students, for example, were at places like Google and Apple in fraud detection. 'Accounting is everywhere,' she said."

A sampling of media highlights for the week of August 13, 2024

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, NYU Stern's Department of Accounting hosted the 2024 Junior Theory Conference. The conference aims to provide an opportunity for junior faculty and PhD students to exchange research ideas and stimulate new ideas and paths for theoretical accounting research.

Hosted by the NYU Stern Accounting Department, the conference aims to provide a forum for the exchange and flourishing of theoretical and theory-guided research in accounting. While the conference focuses on theoretical work, it also invites papers that are guided by economic theory but use other methodologies, such as reduced-form empirical archival research, structural estimation, and experimental research. The conference encourages crossovers with other areas of the social sciences that can contribute to, and benefit from, insights in accounting research. The conference featured paper presentations with a discussant assigned to each paper, as well as three keynote speakers.
