NYU Stern Graduate Convocation Class of 2020 Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order copies of the photos taken at Convocation?

As a courtesy, a professional photographer from Island Photography will be taking photographs of each graduate as they are recognized during the ceremony.  Within 48 hours after Convocation, each graduate will be emailed a secure link and a PIN to view and order photos.  For questions related to photography, please contact Island Photography at 800-869-0908 or custserv@islandphoto.com.  You can also visit their website at www.islandphoto.com. Purchase is optional.

What is the difference between Graduate Convocation and Commencement?

Graduate Convocation is for Stern MBA, BS/MS, MS and PhD candidates and their families and friends. The ceremony recognizes each student individually. Stern’s rescheduled Graduate Convocation for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

NYU’s All-University Commencement is for all students graduating from New York University.  With thousands of students expected to attend, graduates are not recognized individually by name.  Instead, the deans introduce each class as a whole and a representative selected in advance will receive a symbolic degree for degree categories.  NYU’s All-University Commencement for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 6pm ET at Yankee Stadium.
