Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Undergraduate Baccalaureate and Commencement?

Undergraduate Baccalaureate is for Stern BS, BS/MS, and BS/BFA candidates and their families and friends. The ceremony recognizes each student individually. Stern’s Undergraduate Baccalaureate for the Class of 2024 will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

NYU’s All-University Commencement is for all students graduating from New York University. With thousands of students expected to attend, graduates are not recognized individually by name. Instead, the deans introduce each class as a whole and a representative selected in advance will receive a symbolic degree for degree categories. NYU’s All-University Commencement for the Class of 2024 will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11 am ET at Yankee Stadium.

My guests and/or I need visas to travel to the United States to attend Commencement and/or Stern's Undergraduate Baccalaureate ceremony. How do I request an invitation to include in a visa application?
