Resources for Military Veterans
The Military Veterans Scholarship
The Military Veterans Scholarship is awarded to exceptional candidates and covers full tuition and fees for two years of study in the Full-time MBA program. All U.S. military members and veterans of the U.S. armed forces are considered.
The Stern Military Service Scholarship
The Stern Military Service Scholarship is awarded to first-year, Full-time MBA students who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Students may apply for the scholarship in the fall once enrolled at NYU Stern. The scholarship assists students in using their unique military backgrounds to contribute to the business community and become leaders in the Stern community. Stern Military Service Scholars use their leadership skills to serve as role models to their Stern peers. The scholarship award varies from year to year based upon funding and number of recipients, but typically ranges from $10,000 to $30,000 per recipient for the first year of study. The scholarship may be used for tuition and mandatory fees only.
Yellow Ribbon Program
NYU Stern is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This program is available to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are 100% eligible for the new Post 9/11 GI Bill. During the 2013-2014 academic year, Stern will contribute up to 25 scholarships of $10,000 per year to MBA students. The Veterans Administration will match these funds for a total award of $20,000 per year. Yellow Ribbon recipients will receive the funds for the duration of their MBA tenure. Please visit the Department of Veterans Affairs website
for additional information on eligibility.
Advanced Civil Schooling Award
Any Full-time MBA admitted student who is having a portion of tuition paid for by the military through Advanced Civil Schooling (ACS), or a similar program, is eligible to apply for this award. The amount of the award will vary depending on the level of tuition support from the military. If selected for the award, it will cover any shortfall between the cost of NYU Stern tuition and the tuition funding from the military. Students must apply after admission to the program, but prior to enrolling. To apply for the award, please email email@example.com
with a brief statement of your situation and include all relevant documentation. Applications will be considered based on availability of funds.
