    NYU Stern’s Creative Destruction Lab-New York City Selects 27 Startups for its Launch Cohort

    Last fall, NYU Stern School of Business announced the establishment of the first Creative Destruction Lab in the United States—CDL-NYC—to support the commercialization of early-stage science and deep technology startups. CDL-NYC received a landslide of applications for its inaugural 2018-19 cohort from founders associated with some of the top research institutes and academic institutions worldwide. CDL-NYC accepted 27 ventures with an admission rate of less than nine percent, becoming the most selective program in the CDL network.

    U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions against public companies and their subsidiaries continued their downward trend through the first half of the 2018 fiscal year. SEC enforcement activity is on pace to reach the lowest level since 2013, according to a report released today by the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business and Cornerstone Research.

    New research from NYU Stern PhD student Christopher To and Professor Gavin Kilduff, along with Lisa Ordóñez of the University of Arizona and Maurice Schweitzer of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, finds that rivalries increase an individual’s propensity to make risky decisions, which may help or harm the greater whole.
