Who Is Permitted in Your Class?

When a student who is not registered for your course approaches you to try to get in, please tell him or her that it's not up to you. If you very much want us to allow someone who asks into your class, don't tell them you want them. Tell us! If there's nothing we can do, we'll explain why to both of you.

Stern MBAs: Send Stern MBAs to Registration or an Academic Advisor.
Undergrad Students (all types): Send them to the Stern UC Office of Advising.
Non-Stern Grad Students: Send non-Stern students to their own advisors, who are the only ones with whom we will work to get them into a class.

SITTING IN (without registering):
Unfortunately, we cannot allow it. Students may only audit your course if they register as auditors (which means paying tuition) and no one from outside NYU may audit either formally or informally, unless they are matriculated in a degree program elsewhere and apply to Stern for special student status.
