Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance (COA), also known as the "budget," represents the student's maximum financial aid eligibility. The budget is determined by the university and consists of tuition and fees plus living expenses. If faced with extenuating circumstances, students do have the option of submitting a Budget Appeal Form. If approved, this enables students to increase their cost of attendance and consequently, borrow additional loans. Keep in mind that you may only borrow loans up to the full cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received.

COA Description

It is important to distinguish the costs that are actually owed to NYU Stern for tuition and fees from those that are for personal expenses. The tuition figure for each program represents what must be paid directly to the NYU Stern Bursar's Office. The figures in each of the living expense categories are estimated by NYU and reflect the amount that students should budget for the academic year. Please select the appropriate link on the lefthand navigation bar to find the COA figures for the program of your choice.
