The Initiative hosts several case competitions during the year to provide educational and professional opportunities for NYU Stern students and the wider professional community.
Fall ABI Corporate Case Competition
During Fall 2025, the Initiative hosted a Corporate Restructuring Case Competition sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute. The ABI Corporate Case Competition brought together 10 leading business schools to compete for the Bettina M. White Trophy, which is presented to the winning team.
ABI’s Anthony H.N. Schnelling Endowment Fund provided cash prizes of $7,000, $4,000 and $3,000 for the top three teams. Schools competing included UVA’s Darden School of Business, Boston College Carroll School of Management, Columbia Business School University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Fordham University Gabelli School of Business, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, New York University Stern School of Business and the Wharton School of Business.

Spring ABI Corporate Case Competition
During the Spring, the Initiative hosts an annual case competition co-sponsored by Milbank and PJT to provide educational and professional opportunities for NYU Stern students and the wider professional community.
2026's event saw incredible growth, with over 120 students—more than double last year—and 20 teams competing across three days. Participants were judged by an outstanding group of 25+ industry professionals, whose time and insight made the experience truly exceptional.
