Today New York University Stern School of Business announced breaking news: its one-year Andre Koo Technology and Entrepreneurship MBA will shift to a test-optional policy for the current admissions cycle. Candidates applying to enroll in the May 2023 incoming cohort will not be required to submit a standardized test score regardless of their employment status.

James Bessen, an economist and technologist, serves as Executive Director of the Technology & Policy Research Initiative at Boston University. He has also been a successful innovator and CEO of a software company. Bessen studies the major economic impacts of technology on society (see New York Times profile), writing academic papers, magazine articles, and books. His latest book, The New Goliaths (Yale 2022), argues that major firms’ investments in proprietary software systems have allowed them to increase their dominance of industries, slowing aggregate innovation and raising income inequality.

The competition will hold a virtual kickoff event at 4pm on Tuesday, November 8th and take place on campus from 11AM to 4PM ET on Friday, November 11th.

Excerpt from BusinessBecause --  "NYU Stern is leading the pack of MBA grads with record-breaking salaries after releasing its employment report that showed median base salaries for the Class of 2022 have reached a huge $170k—this is a $15k increase from the previous cohort.
 
"The New York City-based school has confirmed the average total compensation for its grads was roughly $196k, which presents an almost 8% rise from 2021 and the school’s highest ever figure to date."

On Tuesday, October 25, DHL Express Americas CEO Mike Parra joins NYU Stern's Steven Altman for a virtual "fireside chat" on Global Leadership and the Future of International Logistics.
