Career Initiatives
The Undergraduate Professional Development and Career Education (PDCE) team offers a variety of programs throughout the academic year to provide you with critical resources for professional development and career exploration. These programs expose you to a broad range of industries and companies. PDCE's programs also connect you with industry leaders and Stern alumni who provide guidance to help inform the career decision-making process. PDCE's professional programs complement the programs offered at the Wasserman Center for Career Development.
SternTalks
SternTalks are short, informative presentations from alumni and professionals who work in a multitude of industries, including marketing, consulting, entertainment, finance, sustainability, and technology.
Case Walk-Through Series (CWS)
The Case Walk-Through Series provides an opportunity for first-years and sophomores to learn about an industry by walking through an actual work-related project or client engagement. You have an opportunity to work in groups to discuss pertinent questions and receive feedback from professionals.
Professional Development Series (PDS)
The purpose of the Professional Development Series is to introduce you to the essential professional skills, such as networking and interviewing, that are necessary to secure internships and full-time jobs. In each session, industry professionals share their personal experience with the topic and provide advice on how to excel in that area.
Junior Jumpstart Series
The Junior Jumpstart Series is a crash course in preparing juniors for on-campus recruitment. Similar to the Professional Development Series, sessions are led by industry professionals. Topics include resumes, interviews, and elevator pitches.
Training the Street
Training the Street is a one-day session run in partnership with Wells Fargo that helps you learn the ins and outs of financial modeling. This corporate valuation seminar will train you on Wall Street valuation methodologies that will help in preparation for investment banking interviews and internships.
Consulting Bootcamp
The Consulting Bootcamp breaks down the steps needed for you to be successful in consulting case interviews. Sessions are held weekly and are led by MBA students with industry experience.
Professionals in Residence (PiR)
Professionals in Residence is a program for first-years and sophomores that brings industry professionals to Stern for short one-on-one appointments. During these meetings, professionals will answer questions about their job and careers in the industry.
Alumni Career Engagement (ACE)
The Alumni Career Engagement program provides an opportunity for you to network with and receive personalized career guidance from alumni. Alumni meet with you in small groups to share advice on careers and life after Stern.
