FinTech Experiential Learning

The Next Evolution of Financial Services

FinTech Experiential Learning

This course provides a hands-on experience in the emerging fintech discipline. FinTech Experiential Learning is an experiential learning opportunity that allows students to work in teams to tackle a business issue or opportunity for a client while applying in real time the key steps of the fintech innovation and adaptation process they are learning in the classroom. Students will discuss their challenges, approaches and recommendations in class while benefiting from the guidance and expertise of the instructor, additional experts, and the partner.

Whether students are going into the finance or data science fields, this course will show you how to break a complicated problem into pieces that can be individually and methodically addressed. We will discuss how to gather the right data to build a relevant fact base which can be used to drive key conclusions. By working on a real-time fintech project, students will benefit from the ‘flipped classroom model’ to seamlessly integrate knowledge with practice and leave the experience confident in problem solving abilities. The goal of this course is to help students structure their thinking when approaching fintech problems, and ultimately to produce effective proposals (in the form of a final project document) for the partner.

Some MBA students are eligible for this course. This course may not be offered each semester or every year. The course offering and teaching faculty are subject to change. Current students can view our CampusGroups website below for more information on eligbility, pre-requisites, the application process, and program policies.

Student Testimonial

Hendrik, Spring 2020

“I think this course is for anyone who is trying to get hands-on experience in the field of Fintech. Fintech is an extremely broad category and this class will give you an opportunity to work on a project that may open your eyes to a new aspect of the field. For those who like the idea of Fintech but have never worked on a specific project this is a great way to explore the field before fully commiting.”
