The Stern Private Equity Club will host its Eighth Annual Stern Private Equity Conference on Friday, March 1, 2013. Tepid global growth, regulatory dynamics, political pressure and financial market conditions are posing challenges to fundraising, deal financing and operations. Stern MBAs win Cable Interacts Interactive Launch Competition

On November 28, 2012, a team of five NYU Stern MBA students won the first place $2,000 prize in the second annual Cable Interacts Interactive Launch Competition. Kibi Anderson, Ben Colman, Joshua Cohen, Austin Clements and Taj Corinaldi, advised by Professor Alvin Lieberman, competed against teams from Columbia Business School, MIT Sloan, Georgetown McDonough School of Business, Boston University School of Management and Howard University School of Business.

Three teams of MBA students went head-to-head, pitching their ideas for future business endeavors in the finals of Amazon’s Innovation Competition. Student teams competed for prizes ranging from a Kindle Fire to a job interview at Amazon’s Seattle headquarters by writing proposals that answer the question, “If I were at Amazon I would totally …”

Hosted by EEX, the competition gives MBA2 student teams three weeks to create an actionable product or service for Amazon. Written submissions will be reviewed by Amazon management, and finalists will pitch their ideas to Amazon executives at an on-campus event on Friday, October 5.

Do you want to produce short films? If so, please join ProMotion Pictures for the Innocence Project Creative Brief. Maddy deLone, Executive Director of the Innocence Project, Paul Cates, Communications Director of the Innocence Project, and Alan Newton, Exoneree, will share their experiences and vision for the competition. In addition, the ProMotion Pictures board will discuss competition rules and timelines. Reception with light refreshments to follow where attendees are encourages to meet prospective teammates and to share competition ideas. Kicking off the fall semester, ProMotion Pictures is announcing this year’s competition sponsor: The Innocence Project, which is dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals in the US criminal justice system.
