NYU Stern's Center for Global Economy and Business and Volatility and Risk Institute co-hosted a fireside chat with Lorie K. Logan, Executive Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of New York on March 2, 2022.

Accenture Research’s Francis Hintermann will join NYU Stern Professor and Vice Dean J.P. Eggers for a virtual discussion hosted by the Center for the Future of Management about Accenture Research’s Tech Vision 2022. The discussion will cover new technologies, including Metaverse, 5G, AI/ML, Cloud and others, and how these technologies affect the relationship between humans and machines.

Caroline Freund, Dean of the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy, joins Professor Steven Altman, Director of NYU Stern's DHL Initiative on Globalization at the Center for the Future of Management, for a virtual "fireside chat" on Covid-19 and the Future of Global Trade. Dr. Freund will shed light on the growth of global value chains and how Covid-19 is affecting international trade. She will also discuss surprising research findings on how natural disasters and 3D printing have impacted trade flows. Dr. Freund's research challenges common presumptions about the future of global trade, with powerful implications for decision-makers in the business and public policy spheres.

In this course, students will look at a range of investment philosophies with the intent of finding not only the core beliefs that animate them, but also the ingredients needed to make them work. Students will look at the historical evidence in support of or working against each philosophy and what they need to bring to the table to succeed with that philosophy. In the process, Professor Aswath Damodaran hopes that students will find an investment philosophy that best fits them, given their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Taught by Professor Aswath Damodaran, one of the leaders in the field, Advanced Valuation is for analysts, financial officers, and portfolio managers seeking a deeper understanding of valuation, and the skills and knowledge to confidently make financial decisions. Through video lectures, live online meetups, and a hands-on valuation project, students will learn how to estimate the value of any business, small or large, private or public, in a developed or an emerging market. They will also be able to price businesses using earnings, book value, revenue, or other pricing multiples and comparables.

Taught by Professor Tensie Whelan, this 14-week course provides participants with the ability to help their business be a force for change through ESG (environment, social, and governance) investing, sustainable supply chain management, employee and consumer engagement, sustainability marketing, and more.
