Bill Tanyeri

Stern's reputation for excellence in finance had always appealed to me. Yet it was only after I started interacting with members of the community as a prospective student that the school and its values came to life. Halfway through a lunch with two first-year students, I realized NYU was special. The students I was eating with were beaming with pride. Both had landed internships at companies of their choice but it wasn't their own success that energized them; it was the success of their peers. Everyone they had tutored in the Sales and Trading club had also landed positions in the finance industry. This was my first taste of NYU's selfless collaborative community. As a prospective student, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. During my two years at Stern, I was given the opportunity to learn from world-class professors and listen to and meet with renowned industry experts on their campus visits. I built upon my finance knowledge in a structured classroom environment while developing a solid foundation in operations, marketing, and entrepreneurship. But perhaps most importantly, I was able to do it all while getting to know, learn from, help and be helped by truly impressive classmates in Stern's collaborative environment. As a graduate, I endeavor to live up to Stern's reputation for excellence every day.
