As a part of the Conversations on Urbanization series held by NYU Stern’s Urbanization Project, Edward Glaeser, Fred and Eleanor Glimp Professor of Economics at Harvard University, spoke with Paul Romer, Director of the Urbanization Project, Interim Director of NYU's Marron Institute on Cities and the Urban Environment and Professor of Economics, in a public presentation on April 22.

The Right Honorable Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, addressed an audience of students and alumni in NYU Stern’s Paulson auditorium on April 8. He delivered the 2014 Ashok Sani (BS ’74) Distinguished Scholar Lecture, entitled, “Current Trends in the World Economy,” in honor of Ashok Sani, an Undergraduate College alumnus who had served on the School’s Board of Overseers.

Academics, practitioners and policymakers gathered at NYU Stern on April 7 for a roundtable discussion on “Getting Personal With Securities Litigation in 2014,” co-hosted by the Vincent C. Ross Institute of Accounting Research and NERA Economic Consulting.

On April 4th, NYU Stern’s Entrepreneurs Exchange Club (EEX) will host its annual conference featuring keynote speaker Arianna Huffington, a speaker series that will provide insight into the entrepreneurial journey and panels focused on innovation, mobile and food.

In a discussion hosted by NYU Stern’s Leadership Development Initiative, Dr. David Rock, Co-founder and Director of the NeuroLeadership Institute, spoke to MBA students on March 27 about key neuroscience research findings that have implications for improving leadership best practices.

The MBA Media & Entertainment Conference (MEC), which will take place on Friday, March 7, is an annual conference co-hosted by students at NYU Stern, Columbia, Wharton, MIT Sloan, Duke Fuqua and Chicago Booth.

The Stern Private Equity Club’s (SPEC) ninth annual conference will be held on February 28. The conference, themed, “Finding Alpha: Navigating Investment Headwinds in Private Equity,” is designed to provide current students, alumni and industry professionals with networking opportunities and panel discussions focusing on trends and issues facing the private equity and venture capital industries.

New York University hosts its third annual NYU Entrepreneurs Festival to celebrate the vibrant and growing start-up culture at the University. The event, co-hosted by the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the NYU Entrepreneurs Network and the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute, provides an opportunity for new ventures to seek advice and learn from the experiences of start-up founders, investors and prospective entrepreneurs from the NYU entrepreneurial community.

The 10th Annual NYU/Penn Conference on Law and Finance, jointly sponsored by New York University’s Pollack Center for Law & Business, the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Law and Economics and Wharton’s Financial Institutions Center, will be held at the University of Pennsylvania Law School on February 28 and March 1.

Professor Charlie Murphy moderated the conversation, which began with a one-on-one interview focused on Kerger’s experiences at PBS, career path and professional pointers for Langone MBAs.

On Friday, February 21, 2014, the Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Institutions will host Research Day 2014, featuring presentations on in-progress research at NYU Stern and a panel discussion on the current state of the world economy and financial system.

The social enterprise communities of NYU's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, School of Law, and Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service are co-hosting this year's 4th Annual NYU Social Innovation Symposium (SIS).

A team of four Stern MBA students (Steven Stein, Kathleen Urbani, Lauren Sanders and Jason Davis) took second place and a $5,000 prize in the 2014 UNC Real Estate Development Challenge. It was the first time at the annual challenge that a team from Stern placed within the top three.

The Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Founder.org welcome Michael Baum, founder of six startups, for an informational talk entitled "Building a Billion Dollar Company Takes More than Just a Big Idea." This event marks the kick-off of the $100K Founder.org annual competition.
