Experience Stern | Timeline

New York University Stern School of Business has a long and storied history marked by growth, expansion and numerous pivotal milestones. In 1831, NYU was founded by Albert Gallatin, the former Secretary of the Treasury for Presidents Jefferson and Madison. In 1900, the Undergraduate School of Commerce, Finance and Accounts, under the leadership of founding dean Charles Waldo Haskins, was established to provide education for students pursuing a career in business.
