Stern Online Course: Investment Philosophies with Aswath Damodaran

Investment Philosophies course image
In this course, students will look at a range of investment philosophies with the intent of finding not only the core beliefs that animate them, but also the ingredients needed to make them work. Students will look at the historical evidence in support of or working against each philosophy and what they need to bring to the table to succeed with that philosophy. In the process, Professor Aswath Damodaran hopes that students will find an investment philosophy that best fits them, given their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Stern Online Course: Advanced Valuation with Aswath Damodaran

Taught by Professor Aswath Damodaran, one of the leaders in the field, Advanced Valuation is for analysts, financial officers, and portfolio managers seeking a deeper understanding of valuation, and the skills and knowledge to confidently make financial decisions. Through video lectures, live online meetups, and a hands-on valuation project, students will learn how to estimate the value of any business, small or large, private or public, in a developed or an emerging market. They will also be able to price businesses using earnings, book value, revenue, or other pricing multiples and comparables.

Wharton Professor Daniel A. Levinthal joins NYU Stern Professor Christina Fang for a virtual fireside chat, hosted the the Strategic Management Initiative at the Center for the Future of Management, to share insights and answer questions from his new book, "Evolutionary Processes and Organizational Adaptation: A Mendelian Perspective on Strategic Management." In this book, Professor Levinthal describes how executives can strategically position their organizations for uncertain future competitive environments, not with a “crystal ball” but by orchestrating a diverse set of initiatives within their organizations.

All proceeds will be donated to Women for Afghan Women, described below. A roster of everyone being dunked (including Stern faculty/administration and Stern Student Government Leadership among others) will be posted prior to the event so you will be able to plan out who you want to dunk throughout the day!

Executive Education Course: Inclusive Leadership: Addressing Unconscious Bias to Build Stronger, Diverse Teams

Participants will develop an inclusive leadership mindset, with a focus on working with others across differences of multiple types, including gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability and age. The course examines how to surmount the negative impact that implicit bias can have on performance, team dynamics and efforts to create inclusive environments. Through self-reflective exercises, interactive sessions and group work, the course will move from building awareness of practices that foster diversity and inclusion, to helping participants create an inclusive leadership plan that results in stronger teams and organizations.

2021 Fubon Innovation Conference
The last year and a half have dramatically changed the work environment at most organizations, and have forced us to rethink how to accomplish collaboration, innovation and productivity. This has resulted in new technologies, organizational practices and norms that have enabled fundamental changes in how we come together and create things. In this fast-paced conference, scholars and practitioners will share their knowledge about managing remote innovation and/or the new technologies and practices that are enabling it.
