Brendan Chan

Brendan Chan (he/him) is getting ready to graduate from the Doctor of Education Leadership program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education this May. Currently, he is serving as a full-time Doctoral Resident at Foster America, a national nonprofit that works to transform the U.S. foster care/child welfare system. Last school year, he served as a Research Fellow with the Leadership & Happiness Lab at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership under the direction of Arthur C. Brooks. 

From 2013 to 2022, Brendan held various roles on business and education teams at Google and served in leadership positions for multiple Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion groups across the company, including serving on the Google Research DEI Council as one of 15 members directing DEI strategies and efforts for the 3,000 person global organization. 

Most recently, he served as the Strategy Lead for Code with Google, Google’s body of work focused on providing more equitable access and participation in computer science education for millions of students around the world. Brendan started his career as a high school math teacher in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin and lives in Somerville, MA with his partner, Liam, and their wonderful dogs, Fargo and Miss Cleo.
