Marci Alboher

Marci Alboher is an author/speaker/nonprofit leader/coach with deep experience at the intersection of workplace and career issues, intergenerational relationships and aging with purpose. 

She serves as the Chief Engagement Officer at CoGenerate, a nonprofit working to bridge generational divides, where she leads initiatives on narrative change, thought leadership and field-building. 

Marci has written two books that explore new models for working today, The Encore Career Handbook: How to Make a Living and a Difference in the Second Half of Life, and One Person/Multiple Careers: The Original Guide to the Slash “/” Career. She also created the Shifting Careers column and blog for The New York Times, taught journalism, and coached aspiring writers and thought leaders. A few careers ago, she practiced law for nearly a decade.

Marci has a talent for connecting good people and good ideas, and a commitment to expanding the range of voices that shape our culture. She proudly serves as a mentor editor for The OpEd Project and as faculty at The Modern Elder Academy and Union Theological Seminary’s Encore Transition Program.

In her free time, Marci enjoys all things bookish, low-stakes poker, paper-marbling, collecting older and younger friends, and excessively walking the streets of NYC. She lives in Greenwich Village, NY with her husband Jay.
