Trey Leveque

Trey Leveque is a lifelong learner, cross-sector leader, and advocate with a proven track record in promoting access and equity, advancing civic engagement, and building community and connection. He is currently pursuing a Master in Public Policy (MPP) at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).
Before beginning his MPP program, Trey served as the Engagement Chief of Staff for the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General. In this role, he strategized engagement efforts to address critical public health issues, including youth mental health, community well-being, and connection.
Prior to joining the Surgeon General’s team, Trey worked with Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative as their Texting Communication Associate. In this capacity, he worked to increase higher education access and equity for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. Trey first became involved with Reach Higher in 2017, when he was appointed to their Inaugural Student Advisory Board. He then continued his work with the initiative as a 2018 Summer Fellow in Washington D.C., before taking on the role of UpNext Program Associate. Through his efforts, Trey impacted the lives of over 300,000 students through texting interventions.
Throughout his life, Trey has remained actively involved in his community and has served as a leader in organizations such as Special Olympics Arizona, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Arizona, and Boy Scouts of America. He has also worked extensively in civic engagement, focusing on voter participation and youth involvement. Additionally, Trey has held various roles in state government, including as an Arizona State Senate Page Intern in 2019 and an Arizona Secretary of State Initiative Intern in 2020.
Raised in Arizona, Trey holds a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University, where he earned degrees in Business (Global Politics), Business (Law), and Business (Public Service & Public Policy) from the W. P. Carey School of Business. He also holds a Cross-Sector Leadership Certificate from the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions.
