Learning community

The concept of a learning community is crucial to building an environment where knowledge is constructed and shared collaboratively. In this model, the traditional roles of teacher and student evolve, with three key members of the learning community—the learners, teachers, and community members, including external participants such as guests or industry experts—contributing to the educational experience. Through mutual participation and cooperation, everyone involved can contribute by assuming multiple roles simultaneously. This dynamic exchange fosters individual growth and promotes the collective advancement of knowledge, making it especially valuable in business education, where real-world application and peer learning are critical.

As a teacher, we'll discuss the steps you can take to reinforce faculty presence for your students, both when teaching in person and in online environments.

And we'll discuss ways to foster student engagement, as learner participation is a key component in an effective learning community.
