Ahsan Usmani is a student at the NYU School of Professional Studies pursuing an MS in Global Affairs. He currently serves as a Graduate Assistant at NYU Stern's DHL Initiative on Globalization. His research interests include international political economy, data analytics, and quantitative research methods. His latest research focuses on deciphering the impact of globalization on state sovereignty and how global connectedness can shape a country’s foreign policy.

Prior to beginning his studies at NYU, Ahsan worked as an Economic Policy Analyst at the New York City Council. During his time at the Council, he led economic development projects to eradicate racial wealth inequality in New York City. Ahsan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). While at LUMS, he was a research associate at the Center for Management and Economic Research and conducted correlational studies on female education and standard of living in rural Pakistan.
