Careers

The Part-time MBA program is intended for students looking to advance along their current career path and not those seeking to make significant career change. As such, the career services offered to our part-time students are designed to support student advancement in their current industry or function. In general, the Full-time MBA program is a better fit for those seeking to make significant career switches.

Salary Gains

The ability to progress along your current career trajectory and increase your earning potential is also supported by our recent data on salary gains pre/post the Part-time MBA program. In fact, our graduates have seen an average salary increase of 56% by the end of the program - a 19% increase each year over three years of the program.*

Salary Information Table: This table provides data on salaries for different graduating classes. The table includes columns for Graduating Class Year, Entering Salary, Exiting Salary, Increase, and Percentage Increase. Each row corresponds to a graduating class year, detailing the entering and exiting salaries, the increase in salary, and the percentage increase. Additionally, there is a row for the 5-year aggregate, showing the average values over the specified period. The final row provides information on the annualized return over 3 years. Please note that the 'Annualized return over 3 years' row has no specific entering or exiting salary values.

Not all students report data. The average percentage of students providing entering salary data over the past several years is 69%. The average percentage of students providing exit salary data over the past five years is 20%. Many factors affect this data including the economy and job market. Please note past performance is not an indicator of future performance, but is provided as a reference point.

Career services for Part-time MBA students are provided by the Working Professionals team within the Careers office. The Careers team also offers life-long services to MBA alumni.

The Careers office offers:

  • Lifetime career coaching that considers your individual interests, strengths, and experiences to strategize a career development plan unique to you
  • Virtual and in-person events on professional development topics, leadership, career design, and opportunities to interact with alumni
  • Job postings from employers exclusively seeking to recruit from Stern's working professionals
  • A foundational career education program made up of three modules to help students navigate any current or future job search

Please note, Part-time MBA students do not have access to summer internship or other formal recruiting/interviewing through Stern (except as stated below for the Langone Recruiting Cohort). And, the current employment status or any change in the employment status of a Part-time MBA student does not change the eligibility or availability of any of the career services offered to Part-time MBA students.

Langone Recruiting Cohort
Part-time MBA students can access Stern Recruitment for full-time roles in their graduating year by completing certain requirements. It is important to note that successful preparation for, and participation in Stern Recruitment for full-time roles demand a significant amount of time. Complete information and requirements are released to eligible students every February. Please note that there are a limited number of both participating companies and available roles in this program.

Stern Recruitment is hybrid at this time. In order to make the most of Stern Recruitment, those participating in the Langone Recruitment Cohort should be ready for the possibility of in-person events and interviews at NYU Stern's location as well as employer's location. In other words, participants will need to consider alternatives if located outside commuting distance to NYU Stern.

Professional Network

Langone students and alumni benefit from access to Stern’s global alumni community, which includes 110,000+ members in 130+ countries, with 70 percent of alumni currently living in the tri-state area.
