One sentence quote about your experience at NYU Stern so far:

Stern hits like New York City itself: fast, intense, fun, and exactly the challenge I was looking for!

Why did you decide to pursue the focused one-year MBA program?

I had the technical experience but needed to sharpen my business and leadership skills to advance further in Tech. Coming from Vietnam, the one-year format let me build those skills intensively, build a strong network and gain international exposure without losing momentum. The focused curriculum and tight-knit cohort at Stern gave me exactly what I needed to accelerate my transition.

What has been your favorite class at Stern? Why?

My favorite class has been Leadership with Professor Nate Pettit. The course was incredibly well-designed and interactive. He helped us immerse ourselves in real-world scenarios and truly feel the emotions leaders face. I left every session with new insights about myself, new skills of a leader and how I show up as a leader. These are the kinds of lessons that will shape how I lead for years to come.

Why did you choose NYU Stern?

I picked Stern for three main reasons. First, the one-year program let me accelerate my learning without losing career momentum. Second, the focus on tech and entrepreneurship matched perfectly with what I wanted to do. And third,  the small cohort size appealed to me because I knew I'd form closer relationships in a more intimate learning environment.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Enjoy every single moment because time flies incredibly fast. Try your best in recruiting, but don't forget to explore New York City (living here is a huge privilege). Beyond your main career goals, don't hesitate to check out different clubs, events, and opportunities that interest you. You never know what might spark a new direction or passion!

How has Stern’s location in NYC impacted your experience?

Being in NYC has been incredible for both my professional and personal growth. Stern organizes so many company treks, from top consulting firms to big and mid-sized tech companies, all within the city. It's amazing to visit these offices and meet industry leaders without having to travel far. Beyond academics and recruiting, living in New York itself has been a dream. The city is beautiful and vibrant, and I can do anything I want—explore new restaurants, hit up bars with my cohort, catch concerts, or just wander through different neighborhoods. It's an experience I couldn't get anywhere else.
