One sentence quote about your experience at NYU Stern so far:
Stern moves a million miles a minute, but it has helped me grow exponentially and feel limitless!
Why did you decide to pursue the focused one-year MBA program?
I decided to pursue the focused one-year MBA program to elevate both sides of my career: consulting and content creation. As a consultant, I reached a point where I needed stronger technical skills to move into leadership roles after working on multiple software implementation projects. At the same time, I was growing as a content creator and wanted to build the business acumen to turn that momentum into a sustainable brand and product. The one-year format was the perfect fit to gain those skills quickly while continuing to build my entrepreneurial path.
How did you find a sense of community and support within Stern?
I’ve found a real sense of community at Stern through both the friendships I’ve built and the student groups I’ve joined. One highlight was attending the AHBBS retreat, where I immediately felt surrounded by people who genuinely understood my experiences and goals. It was refreshing to connect with other students who are ambitious but also deeply supportive. That experience helped me feel grounded and truly part of something bigger.
How would you describe the culture and community within your class?
The culture within my class is incredibly supportive. Everyone truly shows up for one another. We’re all ready to help each other out in ways I never imagined before starting this program. It feels like we’re all invested in seeing each other succeed, not just academically but personally too.
What has been your favorite class at Stern? Why?
My favorite class so far has been Leadership because it’s genuinely engaging and packed with lessons I know I’ll use beyond Stern. The discussions feel practical and real, and I’ve learned so many helpful frameworks for managing people and driving impact. One of my favorite takeaways was the 80/20 rule for gaining buy-in. It completely changed how I think about influence and communication. It’s the kind of class that sticks with you because you can immediately see how it applies to everyday situations.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
My biggest advice for prospective students is to be yourself and take calculated risks. Stern truly values authenticity and looks at applicants holistically, which I really appreciated during my own journey. Don’t be afraid to share your unique story because those are the things that make you stand out here. The more you lean into who you are, the more you’ll find your place and thrive at Stern.
