Celebrate Stern UC’s 115th Anniversary With History, Prizes & More!

In 1900, NYU became one of the first universities to establish a school for business in the US.

More than a century later, NYU Stern has become a global powerhouse. Our students are doing great things inside and outside of the classroom, and our nearly 50,000 undergraduate alumni continue to work across borders to make change in business and beyond. After 115 years, it's a great time to remember all the people and milestones that have carried us to 2015.

Help us celebrate by participating in the Stern Undergrad History Hunt Contest! Winners could receive Stern swag, iTunes gift cards, Stern Semi-Formal tickets, and more. 10 Ways to Enter
(Check out some entry examples

1) Dean Geeta Menon is the 11th and current Dean of the UC. There were 10 visionary Deans who came before her and you can find their portraits on the 2nd floor of Tisch Hall. Pick a Dean portrait and take a selfie with them!

2) Dean Menon has been at NYU for 25 years this year, and this is her 5th year as Stern Undergraduate College Dean! She has lots of great memories at this place, so follow her @geeta_menon on Twitter and/or Instagram, then tag her in a post sharing a favorite memory of yours! (Don’t forget to use #IAmStern or #WeAreStern, too)

3) The Barr Family International Studies Program (ISP) sends Stern’s entire junior class to dynamic international locations for an academic, business and cultural immersion. The trip is followed by the annual ISP Competition. Snap a pic with the ISP trophy in Tisch’s 6th Floor Advising Office that is awarded to the winning team every spring.

4) Did you know Stern was founded in 1900 and was the 4th business school in the country to open its doors? This is what Stern looked like circa 1953. Create your own #TBT post and share a pic of Stern recently.

5) According to US News and World’s Report we rank as the 5th leading Undergraduate Business School. Thanks to our amazing faculty, speakers and staff for getting us one step closer to #1. Take a picture with your favorite advisor, professor or speaker and share the love.

6) NYU Stern students love giving back to the community in NYC and beyond. The Social Impact Curriculum has been around for 10 years, and that is pretty awesome. Take a picture of you and/or your friends doing anything good for the community (Ex: giving food to the 3rd floor, food to the homeless, clothing donations).

7) There were only 60 students at Stern in 1900. Stern currently has 2,543 undergrads. That’s a lot more Sternies! Take a picture with 3 or more Stern friends with as much Stern swag as possible and yes, banners count.

8) From the moment Sternies arrive on campus, they are joining a community at Stern both inside and outside of the classroom with Cohorts. Post a pic of you with your Cohort, or showing your Cohort pride at an event!

9) If Tisch Hall’s walls could talk they probably would mention the Concourse Project that began in 2008. The Tisch Hall as we know it looked very different before then. The Upper and Lower Concourse, and the lobby where all renovated thanks to a number of remarkable Stern donors and alumni. Take a pic in your favorite place in Tisch Hall and share why it’s the best.

10)  What would NYU be without New York? NYU Stern is NYC. Share a favorite place, story, or just snapshot in the city that makes you proud to go to college in one of the greatest cities in the world and say #IAmStern.

BONUS WAY TO ENTER: Attend Block Party on September 17th and snap a pic with your friends using #IAmStern and print it for FREE at the sticker station!
