Undergraduate Prospective Student
Welcome 2026
—
NYU Stern Undergraduate College welcomes new students during Orientation.
Few things will ever compare to the vibrancy of hundreds of smiling faces, a bustling Washington Square Park, and the sounds of laughter echoing throughout Tisch Hall amidst a sea of purple “We Are Stern” banners. Ah, Orientation at long last. Welcome to the Class of 2030! We are so back. And we couldn’t be more excited.
Students began their NYU Stern journey by forming connections, exploring opportunities, and finding their footing together in our community. From spectating at the U.S. Open to cheering each other on during the Cohort Challenge, our newest students engaged with the academic, social impact, global, professional, and community experiences that will become integral pillars of their undergraduate journey.
Dedicated orientation leaders, faculty, and staff were there every step of the way to help students navigate their new environment and connect with the people and resources around them.
Orientation culminated in the Dean's Convocation, where school leaders welcomed new students with a message we hope will resonate throughout their Stern experience: be bold, take action on your big ideas, and get comfortable with discomfort, while staying open to how other people and perspectives will shape the mark you make. Resilience, they reminded students, isn't achieved alone; it means asking for help and drawing on the expertise and support within the Stern community as they make NYU Stern and NYC their own. Alongside the encouragement came the animated student leader performance of “The Stern Song”, always a crowd favorite at Convocation.
As we welcome our newest students, both in NYC and London, we hope they will embrace every opportunity to learn, challenge themselves, support one another, and shape their unique experiences. We can’t wait to see where they take it.
