What moment made you realize Stern was the home for you?

What made me realize Stern was home was how genuinely collaborative the community felt from the very beginning. Classmates were constantly sharing resources and advice, MBA2s took time out of their busy schedules to help me prepare for interviews, and professors always made themselves approachable outside of class. What stood out to me most was that people genuinely wanted to see each other succeed. That mix of ambition, support, and community made Stern feel like the kind of place where I could really grow both personally and professionally.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

I’d probably tell my first semester self to worry a little less about having everything figured out right away. At Stern, everyone comes in with different backgrounds and experiences, so it’s easy to compare yourself to the people around you during recruiting or classes. Looking back, some of the best parts of the experience came from leaning into the uncertainty, saying yes to new opportunities, and trusting that things would work out. I’d also remind myself to slow down and enjoy the small moments with classmates, because those friendships and memories end up being just as valuable as the professional growth.

What club or organization are you most proud of being a part of?

I’m most proud of being part of Stern Student Government. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be in a leadership role within an organization that has the opportunity to impact the entire Stern community across all MBA programs. What I’ve enjoyed most is being able to help shape experiences that bring people together, whether through traditions, events, or new initiatives. It’s exciting to be part of something where the work can leave a lasting impact on both current students and future classes at Stern.

How has being located in the heart of NYC set you up for professional success?

Being in the heart of NYC has made networking and professional development feel much more accessible and personal. It’s incredibly easy to grab coffee with alumni, meet with recruiters, attend company events, or visit offices in person, which helps turn what could have been virtual connections into real relationships. Having direct access to so many companies also gave me a much better sense of different firm cultures and day-to-day environments throughout the recruiting process.

How has Stern prepared you for the recruiting process?

Having recruited for consulting, I really saw how much Stern invests in helping students succeed throughout the process. Our Management Consulting Association, along with the Careers Office, made sure students understood every step along the way, from networking and casing to interview prep, and there was always someone willing to help or answer questions. Between the club resources, career support, MBA2 guidance, and collaborative culture, I never felt like I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing or that I was going through recruiting alone.

How would you describe the Stern community?

I’d describe the Stern community as ambitious, collaborative, and fun. People here definitely work hard, but they also know how to enjoy the experience and make time for each other outside of class and recruiting. Whether it’s helping classmates prep for interviews, showing up for school events, or planning spontaneous nights out in the city, there’s a real sense of community and balance. Stern has a very supportive and down-to-earth culture, which makes it easy to build genuine friendships and connections across different programs and backgrounds.
