What class/professor has made the deepest impression on you?

Sonia Marciano's Strategy I & II . The class is case-based and covers various industries such as manufacturing, entertainment, retail, and tech. I studied business undergrad and had a class on the DeBeers case professor Marcioano authored, which only made it clear that she has a very unique and powerful way of analyzing a business landscape.

What advice would you give your first semester self?

Try to live closer to campus. Something fun is always going on near Stern! Also, don’t schedule too many night courses in your first semester as there’s a lot of corporate presentations and social events in the weekday afternoons.

What surprised you the most about Stern?

Diversity. I did expect the class to be diverse in certain ways like nationality and background, but was pleasantly surprised to find diversity in perspectives and ideas. The class is also filled with people from such interesting career paths. It’s always cool to be learning about a case and have someone from your peers who is either from the same industry or the company sharing their own experiences.

How has being located in the heart of NYC set you up for professional success?

Getting to visit many different tech offices around the city to get the feel of what it would be like to work there.
