What moment made you realize Stern was the home for you?
From the moment I stepped foot onto campus for Preview Weekend last year, I knew I had found my people. Throughout programming, Stern's emphasis on IQ and EQ became very apparent, and I found myself making genuine connections that have lasted me throughout my time on campus.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
Breathe and trust the process (rip my 76ers). In all seriousness, take your time to learn about Stern and why it could be a fit for you, and remember to trust your own instincts. That being said, this school has so much to offer and you will definitely find a home here.
What advice would you give your first semester self?
Practice self-care! It definitely felt overwhelming to experience the first month of programming followed immediately by recruiting, all while getting back into the swing of academics for the first time in years. I would remind myself that I deserve to take breaks and shouldn't forget that health = wealth.
What club or organization are you most proud of being a part of?
Stern Student Government! It's amazing to be a part of an organization that promotes tangible change on campus in a myriad of ways, whether it be through hosting social events, supporting other organizations with their programming, or advocating for student needs to administration. You definitely feel like you are making a difference.
Who makes up your chosen family at NYU Stern?
Everyone (and I mean it)! But special shoutout to my fellow nerds that love the same kinds of TV shows and films I do, you know who you are.
How has being located in the heart of NYC set you up for professional success?
This is a key factor that distinguishes Stern from so many other schools. Nowhere else would I have had so many convenient opportunities to network in-person for my chosen industry, whether it be on campus or at company offices.
How has Stern prepared you for the recruiting process?
Special shoutout to the Management Consulting Association. The Class of 2025 spent hours upon hours teaching me and my peers how to network, how to case, and how to tell our stories so that we could secure and crush our interviews. Separately, faculty members like Professor Marciano for Strategy were extraordinarily helpful in thinking about real-world applications of business contexts that prepared me to adapt to unique scenarios provided during those interviews.
How would you describe the Stern community?
"'Ohana" means "family." "Family" means "no one gets left behind."
