Peter Henry
DeanPeter Blair Henry is the Dean of New York University’s Stern School of Business and a former Professor of International Economics at Stanford University. He is also the author of TURNAROUND: Third World Lessons for First World Growth (Basic Books, 2013). In 2008, Peter led Barack Obama’s Presidential Transition Team in its review of international lending agencies such as the IMF and World Bank. A member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Economic Advisory Panel, a member of the board of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the Council on Foreign Relations, Citi, and General Electric, in 2015, Peter was awarded the Foreign Policy Association Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the organization. Peter received his PhD in economics from MIT and Bachelor’s degrees from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar and a finalist in the 1991 campus-wide slam dunk competition. Born in Jamaica, Peter became a US citizen in 1986. He lives in New York City with his wife of 20 years and their four sons.
Isser Gallogly
Associate Dean of MBA AdmissionsIsser Gallogly is the Assistant Dean of MBA Admissions. Now in his 15th year with New York University’s Stern School of Business, he is responsible for the Full-time and Part-time MBA programs as well as the MS in Accounting program. In addition to his admissions responsibilities, Dean Gallogly is engaged in a variety of strategic initiatives for the school.
Prior to joining NYU Stern, Dean Gallogly worked for almost a decade in consumer packaged goods marketing. He held several positions in brand management at L‘Oreal, Unilever, and Mattel Toys.
Dean Gallogly received his MBA from Duke University and his BS from Colby College.
Dhananjay Gode
Clinical Associate Professor of AccountingDan Gode is a Clinical Associate Professor of Accounting at New York University Stern School of Business. Professor Gode teaches courses in corporate financial accounting.
Professor Gode has been with NYU Stern since 1998. He was voted as the "Professor of the Year" in 2002. His primary research areas include financial analysis, legal liability of firms, valuation, managerial accounting, and performance measurement. Professor Gode has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the Journal of Political Economy.
Professor Gode received his bachelor of science in electronics and communication engineering from the Institute of Technology, India and his masters in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management. Professor Gode received his Master of Science in information systems, Master of Science in accounting, and his Doctor of Philosophy in accounting with a minor in information from Carnegie Mellon University.
Joe C. Magee
Associate Professor of Management and OrganizationsJoe Magee, Associate Professor of Management and Organizations, joined New York University Stern School of Business in September 2004. Professor Magee's research revolves around the roles of hierarchy in organizations and society. He has investigated how power differences transform the way people think and behave and how people figure out who has power over whom. Professor Magee and his colleagues discovered a series of reliable changes in the psychology power-holders that seem to be potentially damaging for relationships and organizations but, under certain conditions, actually can contribute to interpersonal and organizational effectiveness. He has also published on the social role of emotion.
Professor Magee is also an Associate Professor of Management at NYU's Wagner School of Public Service. Professor Magee earned his A.B. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business in 2004.
Sonia Marciano
Clinical Full Professor of Management and OrganizationsSonia Marciano joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Clinical Associate Professor of Management and Organizations in July 2007.
Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Marciano taught Strategy at Columbia Business School and was an Institute Fellow and Senior Lecturer at Harvard University's Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness. In Chicago, Professor Marciano also was a Clinical Professor of Management and Strategy at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management for eight years, as well as an Adjunct Professor of Strategy at the University of Chicago. Professor Marciano has worked in the consulting, banking and insurance industries, and has taught executive education courses for Ernst & Young and Abbott Laboratories, among others.
Professor Marciano received her B.A. with honors, her M.B.A. and her Ph.D. in Business Economics and Industrial Organization, all from the University of Chicago.
Anne Gregory
For nearly two decades, Anne Gregory has been a devotee of classical music. Anne started playing flute & piccolo at the age of 12, attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem NC, and received a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from the New England Conservatory (NEC) in Boston MA. Anne's passion for music led to a career of arts education and community engagement, first with the NPR radio show From the Top and then with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During that time, she co-developed a community performance program in Jamaica Plain (August Noise JP), chaired the James Pappoutsakis Flute Competition, and worked with NEC students in arts entrepreneurism. To expand her professional network and business acumen, Anne chose to pursue an MBA at Stern. She is a member of the 2016-2017 Leadership Fellows Cohort, is an active board member of multiple student organizations, and performs with the NYU Community Orchestra. Building on a career of marketing the arts to new audiences, Anne will bring her talents and enthusiasm to Colgate-Palmolive's marketing department come the fall of 2017.Starling Hooks, II
Starling Hooks, II is a native of Tuskegee, AL and a graduate of Vanderbilt University with majors in Economics and Engineering Science. Prior to Stern, Starling had 13 years of extensive experience along the petroleum value chain. Starling’s MBA study centered around Corporate Finance, Strategy and Marketing. After graduation Starling will be joining the Corporate Strategy and Development team of TIAA here in New York City. In his free time, Starling enjoys the arts, antique vehicles, and spending as much time as possible with his daughter Elle.Sagan Schultz
CEO and co-founder of WellWell, a clinically grounded, cold-pressed recovery juice for athletes and people with active lifestyles. He holds a B.S. in Neuroscience from NYU and will graduate in May with an MD/MBA. Prior to starting WellWell, Sagan spent five years as a sommelier at Terroir Wine Bar in NYC. Fueled by ambition, good coffee, and fish tacos, you can find him buzzing around the streets of lower Manhattan on fixed gear.The Outreach Committee assists MBA Admissions in planning Stern Preview each year. The Committee is an arm of the Stern Torch Committee, a group of more than 120 student volunteers dedicated to recruiting Stern’s next class of MBA students.
