The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) announced the appointment of Tiphaine Massé as Senior Research Scientist. Massé will lead the development of analytics tools and frameworks that embed sustainability into private market investment processes.

In this role, Massé will direct the advancement of CSB’s Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI™) methodology, adopting it for private markets and institutional investors. The work aims to embed sustainability considerations into core investment decision-making to enhance resilience, mitigate risk, and drive competitive advantage. His appointment deepens CSB’s ongoing engagement with private market investors and its growing body of applied research in the space.

“Investors who can systematically measure and manage sustainability-linked value creation will have a structural edge in a volatile market,” said Amy Skoczlas Cole, Director of NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business. “We are thrilled to welcome Tiphaine, who brings the financial rigor and transformation experience to make ROSI a standard part of the private equity toolkit.”

Massé brings more than 20 years of experience at global financial institutions, most recently at Credit Suisse. There he led complex transformation initiatives across treasury, capital planning, enterprise controls, and performance management, driving cross-functional execution and unlocking value across business lines. Prior to Credit Suisse, he held senior leadership roles at BNY and Citigroup. Massé holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

“I am excited to join the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business at a moment when private markets are uniquely positioned to lead on long-term value creation,” said Massé. “Embedding sustainability into investment decision-making can strengthen underwriting, improve operational performance, and enhance enterprise value. ROSI provides the analytical foundation to evaluate the business case and build better decision-making.”
