|Assistant Research Scholar, Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) - Full-Time Opportunity
The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant who is passionate about the CSB mission to improve business performance and create positive societal impact. The Research Assistant will support CSB’s corporate research and partnerships related to the Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) framework, our ground-breaking approach that serves to identify and track the financial business case for sustainability across sectors. Corporate ROSI partners have included Cargill, Aston Martin, McDonald’s, National Grid, REI, and a dozen more.
The Research Assistant will conduct research and data analysis related to company-specific and/or industry-wide sustainability strategies, help develop monetization metrics, tools, and frameworks, and assist the CSB research team in other related research and or project management tasks as assigned.

|Senior Research Lead, Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) - Full-Time Opportunity
The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) seeks a passionate, organized, and experienced researcher to shape and implement CSB’s corporate research and partnership agenda related to Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI), our ground-breaking framework that serves to identify and track the financial business case for sustainability across sectors. CSB’s research aims to reimagine the next phase of capitalism, from a system focused on maximizing short-term shareholder profits, to one focused on creating enduring stakeholder value. CSB defines sustainability holistically, including environmental, social, governance, and economic issues.
This position will lead ROSI-related initiatives, including advisory services engagements with companies, further design and development of the framework for new sectors and subject areas, writing case studies and articles for business management journals, and building alliances with organizations to encourage the uptake of ROSI by corporates and investors. The Senior Research Lead will be instrumental in managing existing projects and designing and implementing new projects as well as helping to socialize the ROSI methodology with CFOs, CSOs, investors, and academics.

|Research Assistant: Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project Lead, Invest NYC SDG Initiative - Student Position
The NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) is seeking a skilled, committed NYU graduate student to serve as the project lead for the renewable energy and energy efficiency work of a CSB initiative, Invest NYC SDG, (the “CSB initiative”). The CSB initiative has the goal of driving private sector financing toward creating a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient New York City. Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as a framework, the CSB initiative is developing concrete investable projects in six areas -- the built environment, waste, food and health, climate resilience, sustainable mobility, and renewable energy.The research assistant will support and help to expand the database, which identifies those buildings that will be subject to fines under NYC Local Law 97, identifies the largest carbon-emitting buildings, and correlates the information with the building owner and the mortgage lender to support the deployment of the C-PACE program and increase the energy efficiency around the city.
