Jolawn Victor (MBA ’09), Chief International Officer at Headspace Health, will be in conversation with Kimberley Nixon (MBA ’09), Managing Partner, Open Venture Capital on the topic of workplace wellbeing. Jolawn will unpack how to foster compassionate leadership in an organization as well as provide practical tips around how to minimize stress and anxiety for employees returning to a hybrid environment.

Jolawn Victor Headshot

Jolawn Victor (MBA '09) is the Chief International Officer at Headspace Health; a full spectrum digital mental health and wellbeing company, born out of the merger between Headspace and Ginger in 2021. Jolawn leads enterprise sales and marketing around the world (excluding the US and Canada) and is based out of the group's UK office. Prior to Headspace she led Emerging Markets and Global Expansion for Intuit, where she was responsible for business in over 150 countries outside of the US. She joined Headspace as a product leader in 2020 with eighteen years of engineering, marketing, and innovation experience from the consumer packaged goods industry.

Jolawn previously worked at PepsiCo, where she led the potato chip innovation business on the $3.5B Lay’s brand, launching customer favorites including Lay’s Poppables, Habanero, and Lightly Salted flavors. Her role focused on driving global share and profit growth through crafting a 3-year innovation strategy. Before her time at PepsiCo, Jolawn shoveled Cheerios and stirred Progresso soup for General Mills. She worked as a project engineer, managing small to medium capital projects driving innovation and productivity.

A native of Minneapolis, MN, Jolawn attended Spelman College and Georgia Tech where she graduated from a dual-degree program with BS degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering. Jolawn attended NYU Stern’s School of Business, where she graduated with an MBA with a Marketing concentration in 2009.

 


Kimberley Nixon Headshot

Kimberley Nixon (MBA '09) is a strategy and operations professional with a deep expertise in leading digital transformations and launching new products to market. Over the course of Kimberley’s career, starting as a management consultant and serving most recently as COO to a fitness startup and as an advisor to startup founders, Kimberley has helped several brands to bring new products to market and widen their distribution. As a General Manager and COO, Kimberley has managed all aspects of the product lifecycle from supply chain and product development to marketing and sales for brands that include Under Armour, Manduka Yoga, Tonal and Headspace. She has recently leveraged this experience to launch Open Venture Capital. 

Kimberley is also an avid real estate investor with a passion for creating opportunities for women, and specifically women of color, to build their own paths to financial freedom. Through her real estate portfolio she has raised money from and built education seminars for women to gain greater access to real estate strategies and opportunities that may not otherwise be open to them.

Kimberley is a graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business, where she focused her studies in Finance, Strategy and Operations. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Kimberley is married with two sons. She is a native New Yorker, now residing in Los Angeles, on the continuous hunt for good pizza and bagels.
