Every summer, MBA students in NYU Stern’s Fertitta Veterans Program have an opportunity to get an early start on classes, explore different career paths through corporate visits, and engage with the military community at Stern. The program recognizes the significant transition military veterans and those in active duty face in going from the military to business school. This year, the Fertitta students met with Stern alumni and corporate partners at a wide range of companies across industries that included BCG, Facebook, Mastercard, McKinsey, MSG, UBS, and Viacom.

The visits are coordinated by the Corporate Relations team, led by Kate Gregory, senior director. “This year because we did the visits via Zoom, we had the opportunity to connect the students with a wider range of executives at company partners,” said Gregory. “These visits give the students a chance to get a jump start on fall recruiting and to hear firsthand from many Stern alumni who are vets themselves, forging important connections with Stern’s corporate partner and alumni network.”

Several Stern alumni led the visits, which included Taylor Stuart (MBA ‘16) at BCG; Bryan Coughlin (MBA ‘17) from Facebook; Matthew McKernon (MBA ‘16,) Sam Kies (MBA ‘16), and Mark Lomedico (MBA ‘18) from Mastercard; and Chris Baxter (MBA ‘96) from UBS.
