Current and former recipients of NYU Stern’s Social Impact Internship Fund (SIIF) gathered with Dean Peter Henry to celebrate the collective achievements of the community.

In April, Dean Peter Henry traveled to California to connect with alumni living in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas.

Alumni returned to campus last weekend to celebrate Reunion 2016. Now in its sixth year, Reunion marked the kickoff of two new traditions: a celebration held in the springtime and the addition of special events for one-year alumni.

On March 8, James Herbert joined Professor Ingo Walter and more than 60 NYU Stern alumni, students and faculty for a conversation about the business philosophies that have informed his illustrious banking career.

At the fifth annual scholarship reception, nearly 200 scholarship benefactors and recipients gathered to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions to the Stern community. The reception offers a unique opportunity for scholarship recipients to share how donors’ investments in their Stern education have impacted their lives.

At a recent book launch event at NYU Stern, Robert Salomon, Associate Professor of Management and Organizations and an expert in globalization, shared with an audience of alumni, students, and faculty why some of today’s brand-name companies like Uber, IKEA, Walmart, and even Starbucks have fallen far short of expectations for successful expansion overseas, the topic of his new book, Global Vision: How Companies Can Overcome the Pitfalls of Globalization.

Peggy Yu (MBA ‘92) joined a packed class of MBA1 students from Professor Dolly Chugh and Professor Nathan Pettit’s Leadership in Organizations course for a fireside chat. During the discussion, moderated by Professor Chugh, Ms. Yu shared her most important takeaways from Stern and some of the leadership insights she’s gained throughout her illustrious career.

With NYU Stern alumni living all over the world, Dean Peter Henry takes the opportunity to visit with the Stern community outside of New York City whenever  he can. Recently, he connected with the Stern community in Asia, visiting Singapore, Taiwan and China. These gatherings were a chance for Dean Henry to share updates from Stern and the University, including highlights such as NYU’s new president, Andrew Hamilton, whose tenure began in January 2016, and NYU’s record number of 60,000 applications.  

NYU Stern alumni, undergraduate students, parents, and faculty joined Geeta Menon, dean of the undergraduate college and Rohit Deo, vice dean of undergraduate academic affairs and strategic planning at Stern, for a celebration of the vibrant Stern community in India. 

Jonah Peretti, Founder and CEO of BuzzFeed and Co-Founder of the Huffington Post, joined Greg Coleman, President of Buzzfeed and an adjunct professor at NYU Stern, for a fireside chat on Tuesday, December 15.
