Learning for Life
From auditing classes to in-person workshops, Stern makes it easy for alumni to advance their careers with the knowledge and skills they need.
When students graduate from Stern, they take with them all that they learned and experienced to become the leaders of tomorrow. But the desire and need for continual learning never stops, drawing alumni back to Stern. The School offers several lifelong learning options from skills building to personal growth.
Audit Program: Access to Faculty
Every fall and spring, select graduate level courses are available for alumni to audit remotely. The program was launched in 2019, and has fulfilled more than 5,00 audit requests. Popular classes include Business Law with Richard Hendler, Real Estate Development & Entrepreneurship with Harry Chernoff, and Behavioral & Experimental Finance with Ian D'Souza, and are complimentary.
Executive Education: Deep Dive on Focused Topics
Stern offers a number of short courses on topics ranging from leadership development to corporate sustainability, giving alumni and business leaders a chance to focus on a specific topic. Courses are designed to respond to market needs, like the recent one-day immersive focused program, "AI and Future of Work: Navigating What Comes Next," that brought together seven of Stern’s pioneering faculty—experts in AI, ethics, business strategy, workplace culture, and leadership with Professors Vasant Dhar, Foster Provost, Anindya Ghose, Michael Posner, Scott Galloway, Jonathan Haidt and Suzy Welch.
Stern alumni can register for up to two Executive Education programs per academic year, free of charge.
In-Person Workshops: From Personal Growth to AI
These half-day workshops are led by Stern’s esteemed faculty on topics that promote personal growth, intellectual curiosity, and continuous learning. This spring Professor Anat Lechner led a workshop on "AI as a Business Transformation Driver." In the fall, the “How to Get Unstuck and Unlock Your Potential” workshop by Professor Adam Alter helped participants uncover how to move forward and manufacture personal and creative breakthroughs. Professor Suzy Welch led alumni through her workshop on "What Am I Good At, Like Really Good At?".
Programs include networking receptions and are offered once per semester in the evening or on weekends.
