ROSI™ Employee Wellbeing Monetization Tool

An interactive monetization tool to calculate the financial value of a company’s investments in employee wellbeing initiatives. 


NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business (CSB) has developed a monetization tool in collaboration with our apparel company partners and LTI Mindtree. The ROSI™ Employee Wellbeing Monetization Tool leverages our Return on Sustainability Investment (ROSI) methodology, CSB’s client work across various industries, and academic research to monetize companies’ investments in employee wellbeing strategies. 

 

The Wellbeing Tool assumes that investing in employee wellbeing initiatives will help companies close the gap between industry level turnover and their own turnover to ultimately increase the productivity of top performers. “Wellbeing Initiatives” generally refers to sustainability initiatives that impact the entire employee base such as through paid time allotted for volunteering, PTO policies, involvement in Sustainability Green Teams in the workplace, etc.

Instructions for the ROSITM Employee Wellbeing Monetization Tool

The Wellbeing Monetization Tool takes in HR data related to employee headcountwagesturnoverhiring costsproductivity, and cost of wellbeing initiatives. Each of these data input categories will appear as its own drop down section throughout the form. For benchmarking purposes, you will need to have this information available for a previous year and the current year. 

 

Note: At any time, you can save your progress within your browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox) by clicking the “Save Draft” button and this information will not be shared with CSB or any third-party providers. As long as the tool is reopened in the same browser, the information that has already been populated will reappear. 

 

Once the required HR data is submitted using the “Submit” button, the ROSITM model will provide the following monetization outputs: 

  1. Annual Salary per Employee
  2. Cost of Hiring & Turnover
  3. Productivity
  4. Cost of Direct Employee Wellbeing Initiatives
  5. Estimated Cost Savings per Year 

The final results can then be saved digitally (as a PDF) or printed using the “Print” button or emailed using the “Mail” button.
